Information about the server lockdown command.
Information about this server lockdown command.
This command will only work with a specific server setup.
In Server Settings -> Roles, @ everyone needs permission to Send Messages
,
along with any roles you WANT to be able to speak during a lockdown.
All other roles should not have the Send Messages
permission enabled.
- Question: What if I don't want @everyone to be able send messages by default?
-
Answer: First, any channel overrides set to either a green checkmark or a red x will override any permissions in Server Settings -> Roles. So you can use that if needed.
Second, You can always control who can see the channel with the
View Channel
permission. If a user is blocked from seeing the channel, you don't need to also block permission to send messages. Side Note: Most bots that allow you to mute users require or reccomend you to keep theSend Messages
permission on the channel level at a gray slash (the middle option), so keep that in mind.
With the side note above in mind, on all channels that should be locked, there must be a gray slash (middle option) forSend Messages
on ALL roles that should not be able to speak during a lockdown.
- Question: Why are you making us do this and setup our server this way?
- Answer: This is a more difficult feature to implement in order to lock all channels in the server. I only made this a command because someone wanted it. This was the easiest way to implement it without the possibility of making multipe changes to the server and even breaking something.
